The Anatolian Side is the most balanced way to be a student in Istanbul: close to the campuses, relatively calm and well connected.
Transport backbone
The M5 Üsküdar–Çekmeköy metro line is the backbone of the Anatolian Side. The Marmaray takes you to the European Side and the metrobus west via Söğütlüçeşme. İstanbulkart take out your student travel pass in the first week.
Study spaces
Üsküdar Nevmekân Sahil, Kadıköy Public Library and Ataşehir Millet Kıraathanesi offer free, quiet study space. And our 24-hour study hall is the saviour of exam season.
Social life
Kadıköy Moda, Bağdat Caddesi, the Üsküdar waterfront and Çamlıca hill. The independent cinemas and stages in Kadıköy offer student discounts.
Budget tips
University canteens, municipal city restaurants and the family-run restaurants in Kadıköy Çarşı are the most economical options. Do not forget student card and Müzekart discounts at museums.
Campus distances
From Kısıklı it takes about 22 minutes to Marmara Göztepe, about 28 to Medeniyet University and about 18 to Üsküdar University.
