About the Residence

Üsküdar Women’s Student Residence

Sancak Üsküdar Women’s Student Residence was designed to give young women studying on the Anatolian Side of Istanbul a safe, comfortable place to live that supports academic success. Its central location in Kısıklı puts Marmara University, Istanbul Medeniyet University, Üsküdar University and the surrounding campuses within 15 to 30 minutes by public transport.

Our security arrangements are transparent: entries and exits are logged by a card access system and a closed-circuit camera network; a female security officer is in the building by day and a female night supervisor by night.

Our single rooms have a shower and WC, a desk, wardrobe and fridge; our three- and four-person rooms use the well-kept shared bathrooms on each floor. Every floor has a shared kitchen and fridge, a laundry room and a lounge area; on the ground floor you will find the study hall, library, gym, TV and cinema room and dining hall. Our garden is a pleasant common area where you can catch your breath between lectures.

Our catering is built on dietitian-approved menus: an open buffet breakfast in the morning and four hot dishes in the evening. Our tea and coffee corner and water coolers are free of charge.

Via the Üsküdar–Çekmeköy metro line

M5 ~18 min

Take the M5 metro line from Üsküdar Meydan and get off at Kısıklı station. From the station exit we are roughly a 6-minute walk away, on Reşatbey Sokak.

By metrobus

14R / 11ÜS ~35 min

From the Söğütlüçeşme metrobus stop, change to the 14R or 11ÜS bus and get off at the Kısıklı stop.

By sea

Şehir Hatları ~30 min

You can take the ferry from Eminönü, Beşiktaş or Karaköy to Üsküdar pier and continue to Kısıklı on the M5 metro.

By private car

Leave the TEM motorway at the Kısıklı exit, turn onto Alemdağ Caddesi and after 800 metres turn right into Reşatbey Sokak.

From the airport

HVİST-4 / M4+M5 60–90 min

From Istanbul Airport you can take the HVİST-4 Havaist bus to Kadıköy and then the M5 metro to Kısıklı. From Sabiha Gökçen, change from the M4 to the M5 metro.

Frequently asked questions about this residence

Our registration process has three steps: (1) You fill in the pre-registration form on our website, (2) our residence manager calls you within 24 hours to confirm room type, term and pricing, (3) and you tour the residence by appointment and sign your registration contract. For students coming from other cities, we also offer virtual tours by video call and online contracts.

Final registration requires a copy of your ID, a student certificate (or ÖSYM placement result), 2 passport photos, a proof of address and, for students under 18, parental consent. Sending the documents by e-mail in advance speeds up your registration day.

The monthly fee includes an open buffet breakfast, four hot dishes each evening, unlimited fibre internet, electricity, water and gas, 24/7 hot water, heating, cleaning of rooms and common areas, use of the laundry room, study hall, library and all available social facilities. No compulsory service carries an extra charge.

We offer annual, per-term and monthly payment plans. Annual advance payments receive a discount of %10, and per-term advance payments a discount of %5 . Through our partner banks, credit card payments can be spread over up to 9 instalments with no interest. Sibling discounts and Sancak alumni referral discounts are also available.

A deposit equal to one month’s fee is taken at registration. At the end of the term, once the room and fixtures have been checked and no damage is found, your deposit is refunded to your bank account within 15 business days.

Students may leave the residence until 22:30 and return until 00:00; outside these hours entry and exit are not permitted for security reasons. All entries and exits are logged by the card access system, and parents are notified in case of lateness.
